Tretinoin, the generic name for synthetic, first-generation all-trans-retinoic acid, was introduced to dermatology in the 1960s. This prescription drug is approved for treating acne. Some FDA-approved products use tretinoin as an adjunctive treatment for fine facial wrinkling in patients following comprehensive skincare and sun avoidance programs, though this does not apply to our tretinoin products.
